Apple MacBook Air Review + Exclusive Discount
MacBook Air now features a fifth-generation Intel Core processor, Thunderbolt 2, great built-in apps and the same all-day battery life. It's thin, light and durable enough to take everywhere you go - and powerful enough to do everything once you get there.
Apple MacBook Air - those 3 words are enough to define this extraordinarily crafted laptop. As thin as a newspaper, and as light as air - the Apple MacBook Air melts your heart with it's beautiful design. Although the MacBook Air does have it's share of negative features, but in a few words - it's the smartest, and the most beautiful laptop out there.
Boots in less than 20 seconds and performs like a beast
I really hate all those "boots in 10 seconds" advertisements that we see on television. Because frankly, any Windows laptop, once it is filled with all kinds of softwares, takes ages to boot. My Dell laptop (which was worth Rs. 70,000), came with a catchy tagline about how it was the fastest as far as booting was concerned. But after 6 months, guess what? It took around 2 minutes to turn on.
But to my surprise, the Apple MacBook Air is true to it's word. Partially because of the OS X, and partially because of the Broadwell Core i5 processor, the MacBook Air takes just 20 seconds to boot, and this is after I have been using it as my primary laptop since the last 6 months!
Not only that, but it has never stuttered on me. I have designed Android apps, Photoshopped images, and played a game or two, but the Apple MacBook Air has always been up for the challenge. The SSD drive performs really well, and although it's not meant for gaming, for any other task - the MacBook Air is the laptop to buy.
The Build Quality & the Thin Profile - Apple all along
Apple - the name is enough to justify the design of the MacBook Air. Paperthin, and light as air, the MacBook Air gets a ten on ten as far as design is concerned. With the popular Apple logo at the front, and the right slots at the right place, the MacBook makes any other laptop look ugly. Weighing only 1.3 kilograms - it's the perfect laptop if you travel a lot.
12 Hours Battery Backup on a single charge
This is something really serious - 12 hours battery backup on a single charge, damn! My phones battery runs out faster than my laptops! Moreover, it takes just 3 hours to go from 0% to 100% while charging. Clearly, in this department, no one can come even close to challenging the Apple MacBook Air. Moreover, when the laptop is in the sleep mode - the battery drains just around 1% in an hour - how cool is that!
Display and Input
To be honest with you, display is clearly not one of the strong points of the MacBook Air. At 4.86 millimetres the screen is thin and damn sexy. With a resolution of 1366x768 pixels - it looks pleasing when compared to any other Windows laptop in this range, but if you compare it with Retina display - it's nowhere close. In daily usage, the MacBook Air's display will be perfect for you, but if you want the best, take a look at the MacBook with Retina display.
Talking about Input, the MacBook Air's keyboard is a charm to type. Perfectly spaced keys, and backlit, MacBook makes you fall in love with typing. The trackpad is one of the best, it's very precise, and works almost like a capacitive touchscreen. Combine that with the cool multitouch gestures in OS X, and you will always feel incomplete without your MacBook!
Final Verdict - Go get it!
Baring a few things, the MacBook Air is the best laptop in the market! The amazing battery life, the beautiful build, and the awesome software more than make up for any disadvantage the laptop might have.
If you are coming from Windows, OS X might take a while to get used to, but if you are looking for the best - look no further, just get the Macbook Air.
