OnePlus 2 - just isn't worth it.

With the OnePlus 2, we have something bold to say. We believe that great products come from great ideas, not multi-million dollar marketing campaigns. We believe "that’s just the way things are" is almost always the wrong answer. Most of all, we believe that great things should be shared.

OnePlus 2 has a lot to its name - but in the end OnePlus 2 fails to deliver. On the whole the device looks good, yet when it comes to performance, and battery life, the OnePlus 2 fails miserably. Here are 5 reasons why Honor 7 might be the better device to buy in this range.

Battery Life

The Honor 7 runs on a custom chip set, and has SmartPower 3.0, a patented technology from Huawei, which allows it to last over 2 days. On the other hand, OnePlus 2 just gives you 12 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Winner - Honor 7

Honor 7 - it looks premium.

Looks

Although OnePlus 2 has certainly been designed well, and is a big improvement over the OnePlus One - yet the device lacks the premium look. The back of the device feels cheap, and overall, after a few days of usage you tend to get a few scratches even on careful usage.

On the other hand, the Honor 7 has a premium look and feel. The design of the device seems to be inspired from iPhone, and with it's uni-metal body it looks amazing.

Winner - Depends on perception, but for me Honor 7 has the better design.

Honor 7 - premium feel.

Performance

This is the surprising part. On papers, I expected OnePlus 2 to overpower Honor 7, thanks the the 4GB RAM. But in real life performance, both the devices perform extremely well. In fact, their benchmark scores are almost neck to neck.

Another important aspect is the heating issue, which most devices of this range have. Honor 7 doesn't heat up even in extreme gaming, and the OnePlus 2 fares well too.

Winner - Tie

Best display in this range.

After Sales Service

To check the after sales service of both the devices, I took into consideration the user reviews, and I also sent an email to both the companies. Honor 7 is the winner hands-down in this department. With overall 70% positive feedback, their email response time was just 2 hours.

On the other hand, OnePlus 2's after sales services are crappy, with them responding after 2 days, and just 30% positive feedback from users.

Winner - Honor 7

Verdict

Don't believe everything that paid media says. Honor 7 is the most underrated, yet the best device available in this range. In fact, it doesn't even have a single major con - and overall it just beats all the alternatives. In my opinion - go get it!
